Canucks Black Aces Bring Energy and Take Experience During Playoff Call-Up from Abbotsford
The Vancouver Canucks have called up forwards Will Lockwood and Phil Di Giuseppe from the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis. The moves were made in response to injuries to forwards Brock Boeser and Conor Garland.
Lockwood, 23, has 10 goals and 11 assists in 32 games with Abbotsford this season. He made his NHL debut with the Canucks last season, appearing in two games.
Di Giuseppe, 29, has 10 goals and 14 assists in 33 games with Abbotsford this season. He has 110 games of NHL experience with the Nashville Predators and Carolina Hurricanes.
The Canucks are currently in a playoff race, sitting just three points out of a wild-card spot. The addition of Lockwood and Di Giuseppe will give the team some much-needed depth up front.
